Candy Corn Dish

My second grade art students made these cute candycorn plates.
Students are given chunks of potters clay the size of a large appleThen they roll their slabs to fit a pattern  I provide for the shape of the candy.  Use a cutting tool to cut the image.  Smooth edges.  Lay your shape in a paper container lined with paper towel or plastic wrap.  This will help form the sides up so that it does not sit flat- so you may need to adjust them a bit.   Dry and kiln process.
Paint with your choice of glazes.  I find that it helps if I dip the one end  in the white first.  They finish with the orange and yellow.
