Gingerbread House Architecture

Architecture for Kindergarten
'Tis the season for clever holiday projects...some of which we simply do because they are just so darn cute or fun. When possible, I still try to include an
art smart moment
 - just to make my college professors happy! So, this is my way of introducing
 architecture
to Kindergarten students. We can cover the basics, like columns made from candy canes, of course!

We end it by gluing the places the icicles would hang. I lay them in my large tub of glitter snow and cover them, then shake them off.

By the way, the best snow glitter I have found is from Oriental Trading. The chunks are quite iridescent and shiny. Love it!

Supplies: Brown paper bags, stickers, pre-copied images, crayons, glue, glitter, etc.

  1. Would you mind saying where you got the house images from? I would love to do this project with my K-4's. Thanks for your help ;)

  2. Do you have a word doc or pdf file of your pre-copied supplies? I'd love to have them to use at a class party.
